Artist Collaboration: Alyson Fox for West Elm

Oh boy, they’ve done it again! West Elm consistently slays me with their collaborations, teaming up with everyone from interiors maven Allegra Hicks to entertaining authorities Kinfolk Magazine. Now, in what might be my favorite partnership yet, they’re releasing a line of pillows and rugs designed by multimedia artist Alyson Fox.

Alyson lives and works right outside of Austin, Texas. From these southwestern-inspired cushions, with their jagged prints like raw gems peaking from the sand, to the washed sunset and sky hues of the rugs, the sensibilties of that vibrant desert town leap from these pieces. Plus it’s nice to have the option of a lot (rug!) or a little (pillow!) when we’re talking color and pattern.

Most of items won’t be available online until October 23, but in the meantime I’m smitten with so many other things from the new West Elm lineup, I can wait a few weeks for their debut. Besides, the basic glassware and linens I have my eye on will be the perfect complement to an indoor taco picnic on one of those rugs, don’t you think?

P.S. If you’re in the Bay Area, come out to West Elm Emeryville tonight for where Joy will be signing copies of her new book Blog Inc.

  1. Those are some really cool designs… They wouldn’t match my current decor, but I still really like them.
