The Best Nightstand Ever: Storage Accent Table

Pretty bedroom modern wood nightstand

Last week when I shared my new patterned bedding, I mentioned that my home decoration efforts are coming along somewhat slowly. Here's another case in point: For four months after moving in I was still using an upturned plastic storage bin as a nightstand. My joke that it was actually 'lucite' got old fast. But I didn't want to go out and buy just any old thing.

You see, I'm very picky discerning. I could picture in my head what I wanted. But everytime I found a side table I liked, the price tag was not so likeable at all. (Has anyone else noticed how pricey furniture is?) Then this Threshold wooden hex accent table came into my life. It's got everything: a unique shape with enough surface area to place books, a lamp, and knicknacks. Warm, texture-y wood. Sufficienct height so I don't have to fumble for my glasses in the morning.

But the best part? The lid reveals hidden storage! I've been using it for spare towels and blankets, but it would be brilliant for craft supplies, books, or anything else that doesn't get used on a daily basis. I can't stop telling everyone I know about it. I've brought it up at least fifteen times. Pretty soon, my friends are going to long for the days when I had a 'lucite' table 😉

  1. Love it. Especially the handy ridges at the sides – since I knock something off my nightstand at least once per morning and night. And the tablescape is darn good too.

  2. This looks like the perfect table to go at one end of our couch (not much space left for a large end table), plus storage for random legos, jedis and ninjas meandering on the living room rug.

  3. Ahhh I’ve been eyeing this table online but wasn’t really sure about the finish. Definitely in the nightstand market myself. Love how it looks and the storage is amazing, I need all that I can get lol

  4. Ohhh and that lamp is what I’m leaning toward, too. We might be bedroom twins 😉

  5. That secret storage would be used to hide candy in my house. It’s a brilliant concept and I would love to get one. Thank you for the inspiration.
