When I was a kid and I received the classic 'What's your favorite color' question, there was only once answer I gave: 'Purple!' Indeed, the grape hue was my go-to for school supplies, leggings and scrunchies, troll dolls, and anything else that required a me to select from amongst the spectrum. Even now I have a soft spot for subdued mauve-y adaptations of my old standby.
