Rustic Thanksgiving Table Inspiration

Fall thanksgiving table ideas

Halloween is over, which means it's officially my favorite time of year! The lead-up to Thanksgiving and then to Christmas is always full of so much excitement and anticipation, beauty and inspiration, and I'm planning on diving in with no-holds-barred enthusiasm. I've already started brainstorming my contributions to the Thanksgiving menu (my signature stuffing, of course!) and I've also been gathering all the table setting ideas that have caught my eye.

Since the holiday season is crazy enough as it is, I'm drawn to the idea of keeping the Thanksgiving table easy but still impactful—and a modern rustic theme fits the bill perfectly. It features a pared-down palette that puts the focus on textures and materials for a simple yet sophisticated effect. (Think woodgrains and ceramics, greenery and linen, beeswax and kraft paper.) Better still, it doesn't require a huge effort, since by nature it favors the unadorned over the elaborate.

But the best part? I guarantee you that you already have most of what you need to get this look at home! I know I sure do; I'll use my everyday white dinnerware—no need for the fancy stuff!—along with my go-to cutting boards for serving. I might reappropriate the baskets I use for bathroom storage, and "borrow" some boughs from an evergreen tree down the street. If I'm craving a luxe touch I'll add a few metallic accents, but other than that I'll keep it homey, comforting, and easy!
