Colorful Moroccan Style with Coco Carpets & HP

Boho style

If you look up the phrase 'Renaissance woman' in the dictionary, you'll find a picture of my dear friend Caroline Lee. Last year she traveled to each of the seven continents and launched three new businesses—including one that funds an orphanage in India—all while continuing to build her career as a professional photographer. Artist, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and adventurer, Caroline defies categorization. I've never known anyone as comfortable coloring outside the lines as she is!

Elegant boho style

In her most recent endeavor, Caroline has been selling vintage berber rugs from Morocco under the business moniker Coco Carpets. Each new shipment she imports is more beautiful than the last. And with their rich textures and vibrant hues, these gorgeous pieces have been begging to lay the foundation (literally!) for a photo shoot. When HP asked me to collaborate with a fellow creative in support of the new HP x360 Behind the Scenes video, Caroline and I seized the opportunity to have some fashion-meets-interiors fun!

Colorful midcentury style

The HP x360 Behind the Scenes video highlights how the versatility of the HP x360 enables artists of different disciplines to inspire each other—and how the right tools can unite with a collaborative spirit to bend the rules of creativity. In that spirit, Caroline and I combined our two very different sensibilities for these images. She loves neon brights; I'm more of a neutrals girl. Her bold beauty accents stand out in a crowd; I'm content to keep things subdued. And though we both gravitate towards a vintage vibe, Caroline leans more towards the eclectic end of the spectrum while I camp out firmly in classic territory.

Delicate gold rings

So how'd it all come together? To start, I satisfied my desire for restraint with the clean lines of silky, relaxed separates, knowing Caroline would also love them thanks to bold patterns and silhouettes. Pops of Caroline's beloved bubble gum pink offset my preference for creamy ecru and natural linen. Finally, a flash of gold contrasts with effortless beauty notes to complete our 'midcentury Moroccan' look. The result is a shoot that not only represents both our styles but that hums with an energy greater the sum of its parts—just as all the best creative collaborations should. Check out the HP x360 Behind the Scenes video for more inspiration, and have a fantastic weekend!
