Support a Renovation of the Covenant House Youth Shelter in Los Angeles

I regularly share service projects that touch my heart in the hope that they’ll resonate with you guys as well. Today I’m excited to ask for support on one that I myself am involved with! A community group I’m part of is undertaking a major upgrade of Covenant House, an LA organization that provides shelter, health care, and life skills education to at-risk youth ages 18 to 21. The facilities are badly in need of repair, and we’ll be doing everything from replacing the basketball court and the kitchen appliances to overhauling the common room and planting a vegetable garden. I met with the kids today to start generating design ideas that excite them, and I’m thrilled to be working side-by-side with them to make their vision a reality. The end result will be a space transformed from its currently neglected state to a welcoming and vibrant home that empowers young adults for a bright future.

What makes this project so exciting, in addition to the priceless results we’ll generate, is that we’re doing it in less than two weeks! The big reveal is scheduled for Tuesday September 8, and the work that the Covenant House staff has identified as most pressing requires funds in excess of $30k. We’re reaching out to everyone we can think of to support and spread the word about this initiative! We’ve set up a website for donations and I’d be so incredibly grateful if you took the time to give. Every little bit helps! For more information about the project, please feel free to email me at anne(at)annesage.com. Thank you in advance for your support!
P.S. And if you’re a business-owner or brand representative I’d love to chat about how you can help beyond a financial donation! We’re currently sourcing product for all aspects of the renovation! Image Credit: John Stoffer Instagram.
