The ability to discover new stores and brands is one of my top reasons for loving Instagram (and one of the charms I’m most worried will fade with the new Instagram algorithm, but that’s another post for another time…) Seeing where style-setters around the world are shopping is like getting a glimpse into regional style, without setting foot on a plane. One of my favorite finds is Semblance Boutique, a strikingly cool boutique with two locations just outside Minneapolis. Proprietor Bobbi Baron is the queen of the minimalist-edgy modern style edit!
Thankfully for those of us non-Minnesotans, Bobbi puts her inventory online as well as on her (awesome DIY branch!) racks. Think boxy tops with just the right amount of drape, badass suede biker jackets in eye-catching but wearable hues, and shoes with unusual proportions that beg to be shown off. Price points are downright accessible, palettes appeal to both the color-lovers and the color-phobes, and the Semblance Instagram feed is full of creative styling ideas to steal. Next time I head north, a visit to Semblance is definitely at the top of my to-do list—but I’m happy to get my virtual fix until then!
