After a month of stressful, busy weekends characterized by long to-do lists and a nasty virus that I’ve not been able to shake, yesterday I found myself facing a lazy Saturday with nothing in particular on my agenda. A celebration was in order! So I scrambled some tummy-taming eggs then headed to neighborhood favorite SQIRL with a friend who’s stomach is made of stronger stuff than mine is of late.
It wasn’t just any friend who feasted while I enjoyed the spring sunshine; it was food writer Josh Leskar. He’s been visiting from San Francisco and I’ve had the privilege of tagging along on his culinary adventures. The biscuits and gravy, the rhubarb caramom cake…well…let’s just say I look forward to my appetite’s return. Oh! And we ran into the lovely Jesse Webster of Sweet Thing—that’s her holding SQIRL’s to-go latte jar in the top photo. All told, it was postively perfect morning. We loved the way the coffee is delicately served and the easy going seating outside with table and chairs on the sidewalk.
