It's well known around these parts that I love a good road trip. Right now I'm in the middle of a two-day drive from LA to San Francisco with my dad. We're taking the scenic route along the Pacific coast! Essential to a road trip, of course, is road trip music, and this tune from Dominique Pruitt has been on repeat as we meander from vista to vista—with plenty of crab shack stops along the way.
I've mentioned Dominique here before. She's a SoCal-based singer with killer pipes, a repertoire of addictive retro-inspired tunes, big doe eyes, and yowza style to boot. Every time she releases a new track to iTunes I download it immediately, knowing that it will be all I listen to for the next few weeks. It's my secret desire to be one of her back-up singers in her next video.
The most recent song 'He's Got It Bad' is no exception to this stuck-in-my-head rule. It's for blasting with your girlfriends in the kitchen while you whip up milkshakes for a gossipfest, hitting the drive-in movies on a Friday night, or mooning about on the floor of your bedroom while you wait for him to phone. Or, for finishing up the drive to San Francisco. Which I'm going to go do right now. Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
