And some you wish would materialize instantly into a brick and mortar boutique so you could stroll amongst the impeccably curated merchandise, let it fill your senses, then leave with loads of one-of-a-kind treasures that you couldn't live without. That's how I feel about Oh, Albatross, an Etsy shop devoted to rustic vintage with a cheeky twist. If this store had a physical location, the owner might have to take a restraining order out on me.
The owner in question is Michigan-based Regina, who not only scours her local flea markets for midcentury finds with farmstead flair, but who creates soft animal sculptures from the scraps of cloth, ribbon, and trimmings that she collects along the way. We're talking polar bears in Pendleton wool, fuzzy-tailed squirrels in lace aprons. Regina documents the fun on her must-follow Oh, Albatross Instagram feed. And she seems like such a doll herself that maybe instead of filing that restraining order, she'd invite me for tea parties and sleepovers in the store! Hey, a girl can dream…
