Minimalist Global Decor Inspiration from Jaipur Living

I’ve just returned from Las Vegas Market, the biggest interiors trade show on the west coast, and as you can imagine my brain is full to bursting with all the new and drool-worthy traditional, modern, and global decor goodies I spotted! In addition to coveting plenty of individual items, I’m always reeling from how beautifully the showrooms display their wares. We at home can learn so much from professional merchandisers about how best to display our own favorite treasures. My house invariably gets a makeover whenever I return from market!

One of the showrooms I never miss is Jaipur Living. Not only do they serve a delicious vegetarian lunch every day (the way to my heart is always a healthy meal!), but their approach to mixing and layering product speaks directly to my texture-loving soul. Jaipur’s huge selection of rugs, pillows, and throws are the stars of the show, with stools, poufs, and other small accessories in supporting roles. To complete the effect, art installations such as papier-mâché and macrame bring the world of textiles and fibers fully to life. (Here’s a stunning case-in-point from the Jaipur Living Instagram feed!)

The good news is that Jaipur’s Spring 2016 Lookbook is just as packed with eye-candy as their showroom. The vibe is pared-down minimalist global, with a distinct collected feel for a rich and radiant effect. Plumb its pages for ideas on seamlessly mixing antiques into a contemporary space, successfully combining diverse surface finishes from metallics to mattes, and thoughtfully telling a balanced and harmonious style story with as few pieces as possible. I’ve got an interiors photo shoot on my plate today, in fact, and I’m happily putting to use some of the tips I’ve gleaned from Jaipur!
