Two Girls, One Kit: The Boyfriend Blazer by Thacker

We’re back with another installment of Two Girls, One Kit! In case you missed the kick-off last week, my partner in crime Caroline Lee and I are uniting each week to show two very different ways to wear the same piece. The series is inspired by the visual playground we’ve created at Light Lab, in which we came together to explore the juxtaposition between our divergent aesthetic leanings. We’re segueing from interiors to fashion and we couldn’t be more excited about it!

This week we’re presenting two ways to wear my newest closet staple: the boyfriend blazer. We fell instantly in love with this essential piece from Thacker, admiring it not only for its relaxed yet flattering fit but also for its unexpected yet wearable army green hue. I’ve been reaching for it nonstop since it arrived on my doorstep and I know Caroline has been too. It’s not only versatile but it’s incredibly comfortable too—for those days when polish and comfort are rivaling for your attention.

I’ve been wanting to try out the dress-over-jeans combo that’s been ruling the street style scene this season, so I slipped my blazer on over a silk dress and dark skinnies to create a melange of desaturated winter tones. Mule loafers and a minimalist crossbody bag add a sharp counterpoint to the flowy nature of the dress. Caroline, in keeping with hrr bold inclinations, went for a high-contrast striped shirt and cut-offs (try them with stockings in the cold weather!) A blush clutch and glitter ankle boots up the fun factor even more. The only thing this hardworking blazer can’t do is the dishes, frankly, and I’ll bet if it asked nicely it would tackle those too!
