Tuesday Tunes: Megan Slankard

In my constant quest for music to screech sing along to in the car, I've stumbled upon San Francisco's Megan Slankard. I'm always a sucker for the tried and true 'girl with a guitar' act, but Megan is so much more. Her voice is at once sweet like honey and powerful as a double shot of strong whisky; it'll pour over you and float you far, far away. 

Visuals to go with Megan's songs? Rainy day shades of dreamy aqua, rust, and parchment. These are tunes for pulling up the covers, opening that book you've read a million times over, letting the afternoon take you where it will. When you come out the other side, it's okay to feel a little woozy.

Of course I wouldn't be averse to popping a tape into the cassette player and hitting the road in a half ton Ford pick-up either. Bouncing along dirt roads, splashing through puddles, charting paths unknown. Only, um, is it even possible still to buy a tape these days? P.S. You might recognize Megan from an episode of What Not to Wear several years back–I absolutely remember those big doe eyes and that Cookie Monster tee. My how she's grown!
