New Adventures in Hair

Ever since I went from long hair to short hair the week before last (see pics here), I've definitely been putting more effort into 'doing my do'. Partly because a bob requires less time and effort to style than waist-length layers, and partly because, well, I'm having so much fun with it. It feels like such a weight off my shoulders, both literally and figuratively!

So far I've been working on perfecting an Anna Wintour-meets-Russian-spy-mistress look. I start out with a volumizing shampoo and conditioner; I previously had my doubts about the power of such beasts but Davines VOLU really does work. After a hint of volumizing spray, I blowdry, use my GHD flat iron to shape my bangs (I'd look like a scarecrow otherwise) and finish with a drop of smoothing fluid. Voila!

Now that I have this routine down pat, I want to try something more adventurous. Rough and tumble sea-salt waves perhaps, or something tucked and pinned up onto my head. Now and then I miss my long hair, but it'll grow back eventually. The best part is that I've been busted out of my routine, and I needed that more than anything! Tell me: what do you do when you need a routine buster?

  1. I use Davines VOLU shampoo/conditioner and love it too. Although, it’s effect on my hair is quite short of Anna Wintour-meets-Russian-spy-mistress 🙂

  7. I have always had long hair but as soon as I got married I thought new chapter in life.. new hair and cut it all off.. it was fun until people kept telling me I look exactly like my mother. And I don’t particularly want to start looking like my mother just yet.. plus my husband though liked the bob but preferred the long hair..
