What music do you reach for to feel unapologetically, unrelentingly happy? Lately, for me, it's Blisses B. Picture this: If Vampire Weekend and a mini tiger had a baby; then the Talking Heads and a ten gallon drum of glitter had a baby; then those babies had a baby; Blisses B would be that baby. These are punchy, peppy, bouncy beats for bopping around the living room with a Capri Sun in hand.

I'm not sure what it is–maybe it's the bright, twinkling guitar riffs, maybe it's the lead singer's inviting, imperfect voice–but I just can't hear these songs without picturing truly joyous, nonsensical 'fun for the fun of it' activities. Impromptu games of rolly polly in the park; night skies lit up by sparklers; my cats and their great passion for "helping" me with chores like laundry and making the bed.

This San Francisco quartet's most recent album, entitled 'Thirty Days, Sixty Years' has been on repeat chez moi for the past couple weeks. You must, must, must download it. Some seriously addicitive stuff here, folks! Also, if you've got little kids in the house, Blisses B is perfect for a family dance party. Have a listen, and report back to me. Dare you not to love it!
