It's taken me a while to find my jewelry niche–there's so much accessories noise out there. I'm not an over-the-top person. I prefer behind-the-scenes to center-of-attention. I like to look at a piece and imagine its history, where it's been and how it found its way to me. So when I discovered Friedasophie, a line crafted locally here in San Francisco, it was like coming home to something made just for me.

Friedasophie features everything I look for in a jewerly collection. Sapphire, topaz, and rubies are set in raw, hammered metals. Stones with still-rough edges, as though they've been hewn from the ground mere moments before, slip over our fingers and around our necks. There's an intimacy to these designs. It's like the earth is making love to us. (Is it just me or is it getting warm in here?)

  13. These pieces are stunning and have a great earthiness (excuse the pun) to them. But in a time where a lot of style is flashy it’s refreshing to see something understated.

  14. The jewelery from Friedasophie Jewelry is very unique in design and they seem to attract me a lot. Some of their items are really nice and I wonder what they are made from?

  17. The faces are usually smaller and there is usually a much thinner strap on a woman’s watch than there would be on a man’s watch.
