I've had this project in the works for a very long time, and I'm thrilled to share the big reveal! Layla Grayce is one of my favorite online retailers for furniture and home decor and has been for years. We decided to partner up and demonstrate how styling a bookshelf doesn't have to be a daunting task—that if you approach it thoughtfully and methodically, it's totally doable.
So I styled my vintage Paul McCobb bookshelf in my old apartment in San Francisco using a small selection of new items from Layla Grayce, but mostly repurposing old things I already had around the house. You can head over to the Layla Grayce blog for a full report and a slew of tips on how I approached the project. These are photos of the final result, with which I was so pleased!
Later today I'll be back with—brace yourselves!—a giveaway for some of the Layla Grayce pieces that I used to create this look. I was inspired by the colorblock fashion trend that's been all over the runways the past few seasons. But really, the approach I took to styling could be used to get any effect you want. It's about having a plan and being patient with yourself. Design mirrors life…
