Sometimes I try to play coy about giveaways—you know, do a slow reveal—but I can't hold back this time. Comment on this post and you'll be entered to win the white Bungalow 5 Table Lamp and the Chevron Frame from Layla Grayce that I used in my colorblocked bookshelf styling project! I mean, like, how could I not just blurt that awesomeness right out?
Now the backstory. It did take me a long time to style my bookshelf this way: an entire weekend, in fact. And it helped to get an injection of a few fresh home decor items from Layla Grayce. But on the whole this was all stuff I had collected from around the house; what I required most was a vision going into the project, and then a willingness to play with scale and proportion as I worked. There was a ton of trial and error, it got messy before it got better, and it was never truly "done".
As I explained in my post on the Layla Grayce blog—be sure to check out my styling tips over there—this is a really useful way to organize a bookshelf, as you can easily swap new pieces in based on the colorblocking, even arrange flowers according to the palette. Think of it as a weekend of really fun effort that makes decorating a no-brainer for months to come.
The pieces I used from Layla Grayce: 1. Gold Leaf Convex Wall Mirrors 2. Bungalow 5 Melrose Table Lamp 3. Herringbone Photo Frame 4. Illume Boho Candle (Similar to shown) 5. Rosanna Bon Bon White Footed Square Bowl 6.Rosanna Les Petite Sweets Compote 7. Rosanna Etched Vase Images: Photos by Colin Price, Styling by Anne Sage.

Books are the soul in my studio, but they get dark and dusty and need a little taming now and then. Does the little armadillo pop out of that glorious bungalow lamp?

Beautiful job styling! I moved last weekend and that lamp has a spot in my new house!
As a former stylist, what you did takes talent.(in my humble opinion) Grand job.
