Last week I paid a visit to Minneapolis. You might not guess it, but that city has a seriously happening design scene. A definite highlight is the brick and mortar outpost of Mille—formerly known as Shop Pretty Mommy—one the web's most stellar sites for emerging fashion, accessories, and homewares desgners. Mille has been my longtime online authority in all-things-cool, and I was ecstatic to see it in person!
The sensibility of the merchandise mix is seasonal sophistication meets laid-back boho. Owner Michelle has an unbeatable eye for color, texture, and trend; she knows exactly what you'll want to be wearing right now this very minute. Plus Michelle is sweet as pie and welcomes customers into the shop with offers of tea, sweets, and a seat at her long studio table.
As for the labels you'll find, think sandals from Beatrice Valenzuela, artisan fragrance by D.S. & Durga, table linens by Heather Taylor Home, and the best darn mix of printed Tucker silks this side of the Mississippi. I also can't get enough of the Boucherouite rugs that Michelle imports from Morocco. If you ever see one you like on the website, be sure to snap it up because they sell like hotcakes. In fact that advice applies for everything at Mille. Suffice to say, Michelle knows what's up!
Thank you so much to Wing Ta of Canary Grey Photography for shooting these images. Stay tuned next week for an outfit post that we styled and shot during my visit!
Fun! I hope you had a good time in Minneapolis! I sure do miss that city. And you’re right, serious design scene. I wish I could put all my designer and artisan peeps from MPLS in my pocket and bring them back to LA with me!
Hope to hear more about your trip!
