There's something about eclectic British style that speaks to me. Maybe it's my absurd sense of humor—I laugh equally hard at poop jokes and random nonsense as I do at brainy references and wordplay—or maybe it's my inner crazy old cat lady trying to get out. Whatever the reason, the mix of bright, playful, and just plain hilarious design finds at Howkapow consistently catches my eye.
Howkapow was started in 2010 by a husband and wife team to bring independent UK designers to the world at large, and they just keep upping the ante. The vibe is a little bit retro, a little bit contemporary, and a lotta bit fun. There's something for everyone, whether you're decorating a kid's room, inserting a smidge of color into an otherwise neutral space, or jonesing for a major rainbow fix.
Because I'm a commitment-phobe when it comes to vivid hues, I'm especially fond of Howkapow's tableware and linens. I like to bring out my cheeky tea towels and patterned serving trays for Sunday brunch, then hide them away in a drawer when my eyes need a break. There's also a brilliant rotation of limited edition prints. So calling all cat ladies, wierdos, and high brow humorists alike!

That doormat absolutely cracked me up!
Anne,
Just so much great finds you always have. ox, maureen
huge fan of the cutting board–oh gotta love the clever Brits!
Sometimes I wish I could ditch color and have one of those beautiful, neutral-colored homes whose attitude comes from pattern and texture rather than bright color. Sadly (but only sometimes!), I’m equally drawn to pops of color and prints. Needless to say, this looks right up my alley. I’ll check it out!
Simply love this old brick wall and that colorful map! So stunning.
