Yesterday I talked about how important it is to blend work with play to find professional and personal satisfaction. Here's a brilliant example of some extremely skilled and talented collaborators doing exactly that! One thing I love most about my friends at Woodnote Photography is their utter tenacity in bringing ideas to life. So a while back when Caroline decided that she wanted to incorporate zebras into a shoot, I knew it was just a matter of time until she made it happen. Et voilà, zebras!
Of course, zebras don't just fall out of the sky or happen overnight. They live in Africa—or in this case on an exotic animal farm in the middle of Nowheresville, California. And if you're going to go to the trouble to get there, you're going to put together an extended team to help you make your photo shoot as majestic as the beautiful beasts themselves.
I feel extremely fortunate to have been one of those team members. As art director, I determined the aesthetic direction the shoot would take and worked with Sarah of Smitten Studio and Jessica of Disregarden to guide the overall sensibility and tell a strong visual story. The creative process was a blast. Because seriously, you guys. Our jumping off point was zebras.
There are more photos from this shoot featured on Glitter Guide this week, and the complete edit is on the Woodnote Photography blog. My bigger point, however, is what have you done lately to get your creative juices flowing? This shoot was back in April so I'm due for something, myself. I highly doubt zebras will be involved, but I did see some squirrels chasing each other in the yard yesterday…
