Hello, and happy Tuesday! Apologies for my spotty posting this past week. I've been driving across the country with my mom. Our final destination? Toronto, where I grew up and where I'll be spending the entire holiday season. I'm beyond excited to be here (mayoral scandals aside) because it's been ages since I enjoyed a solid chunk of time with my family.
My mom and I had quite the wild road trip, including a long and unexpected stopver in the Midwest due to tornadoes. We hunkered down in a motel, grateful for our safety, and used our time time to cook up plans for that most important of holidays: Thanksgiving. This year marks the first we'll celebrate it together since I left for college over a decade ago, so you can bet we're gonna do it up big. Think 20 dinner guests, two turkeys, and at least three pies. At least.
Everything I know about decor and good taste I learned from my mom. Which means her house is the perfect place to host this big to-do! We're thinking restrained rusticism with warm tones and tons of texture. I'll be in charge of the secret family recipe stuffing, and dad will do the birds on the grill. And most importantly, congenial company will abound!
Love all of your images! It is putting me in the mood for the Holidays. Have a wonderful trip and great holiday season in Toronto! After reading about the mayor debacle, I got more curious and started to look up more information about Toronto, and it looks like such a fantastic place. I have put it on my “places to visit” list!
Welcome back to T.O. If you think the tornadoes were wild – you should watch the antics in the council chamber! 🙂
