Handmade Textiles That Give Back: Elephant Landing

Indian textiles by elephant landing

Caroline and Jayden Lee, the husband/wife duo behind Woodnote Photography, are no strangers around here. I've been collaborating with these guys for ages, and I'm consistently in awe not only of their talent but also their exhaustive drive. Their latest project is a perfect case in point. The two have just launched Elephant Landing, a textiles label that features handmade goods with a purpose.

Caroline and Jayden have been cooking up Elephant Landing for a while, so it's a treat to see their dream come to life! Jayden's family runs an orphanage and skill-training school in India. All of the brand's products are made by widows and single mothers from the school, and all proceeds from purchases go back into the program. What's more, the Lees worked with designer and trend expert extraordinaire Joanna Hawley of Jojotastic to ensure that each and every piece stood out in a crowd.

But don't take my word for it. This heartwarming video says it all, with stunning visuals to boot. Plus as a bonus, you get to listen to Jayden's hubba-hubba Australian accent as he narrates the Elephant Landing story. If I know Caroline and Jayden–and I like to think I do–I can say with baited breath that this is the beginning of something beautiful indeed!
