Never mind the presents, or the food, or the decorations. My absolute favorite part of Christmas is the music. From jazzy Jingle Bells and swingin' Santa Baby to the full gamut of traditional carols, I crank up the tunes on December 1st and don't retire them until the new year. Put that fa la la on repeat and I'll be happy as a Christmas pig in figgy pudding.
But there comes a point at which the opening strains of the Nutcracker make even me want to tear out my tinsel. Rather than press pause—we only have a month to rock around the christmas tree, after all—I simply delve deeper into my archives of holiday songs. I highly recommend these under-the-radar Christmas albums. Trust me: You haven't truly lived until you've heard a brass quintet dinging and donging merrily from on high!

A little late, but… I have CD #2 (birthday gift 2008) and Peggy Lee’s (a classic!). I love Christmas music and I’m still listening to them after the new year!
