Over at Clementine Daily this week I'm talking about what dad really wants for Father's Day. Not surprisingly, it has nothing to do with stuff and everything to do with more quality time together. I brainstormed a few ideas for bonding, everything from joining hands to make light work of a big chore to reviving shared traditions from your childhood.
That said, I still love and excuse to hunt down and purchase the perfect Father's Day gift! Spending time is all well and good but it's also nice to sneak a little something onto dad's plate at the breakfast table. And if you tie it in with an activity you've planned to do together—a new cap to sport at that upcoming baseball game, for example—then all the better!
Of course Father's Day gifts don't just apply to your own dad. Maybe you're shopping for your baby daddy? In that case, best to go with something that you can get the most of too. Cool shades to abscond with, tableware for your summer entertaining agenda, sneakers to go with those awesome yet overpriced jeans you helped him rationalize buying? And if all else fails, say 'I love you' with a big ol' bear hug and call it a day!
