Minimalist Decor from Sparrow and Co.

Scottish-inspired style

I've never been to Scotland, though I do have a few different mental images of the country. The first, which is probably not the most accurate but for a long time was the most vivid, dates back to high school when I devoured the Outlander novels by Diana Gabaldon. Think brawny Highland heroes, plucky lasses in distress, and all the bodice ripping a teenaged history nerd could hope for.

Minimalism

But that impression is slowly being replaced by another: one of stark, windswept landscapes and spare, minimalist design. And it's all thanks to Sparrow and Co. The Glasgow-based online retailer is the brainchild of Samuel Sparrow (yes that's his real name!) and his wife Laura. Together they design and curate a selection of global handmade homegoods that include simple yet striking ceramics, glassware, textiles and more.

Minimalist home inspiration

Sparrow and Co. has been around a couple years now, but it's looking better than ever in the wake of a recent site update. Samuel Sparrow himself (again, that's his real name and it tickles me pink!) has kindly offered readers of The City Sage a 10% discount on all purchases using the code CITYSAGE. As well, a little bird told me (pun intended) that the Autumn collection is waiting in the wings (sorry, couldn't resist) so be sure to stalk the site as assiduously as I plan to!
