I was late to the Pinterest party. The platform launched when I was knee deep in my work with Rue Magazine, and at the time I couldn't be bothered with a site that encouraged me to bury myself in other people's content when I was so busy concentrating on making my own. But ever since then, Pinterest has grown on me. Nothing beats it for getting a handle on a trend, getting inspired for the week's meal planning, or simply getting lost in the deluge of creativity that exists in this world.
I even love how revealing of someone's personality Pinterest can be. If you take a gander at my Pinterest boards, you'll see the aesthetic is pretty consistent with the one here on the blog: mostly neutral in its palette, minimalist and utilitarian in style, and marked by the occasional dash of humor. But you'll also find that I clearly have a serious sweet tooth, can't resist open shelving in the kitchen, and never met a wildflower bouquet I couldn't love.
Three pins that caught my eye this week include an autumnal mushroom dish that reminds me of the forest hikes my dad used to take me on this time of year; an insanely beautiful closet organization system that has me searching Amazon for 'white wardrobe racks'; and an outfit that gives me an excuse to reach for the leopard slip-on sneaks that I bought last year and almost never wear. Oh, and since we're talking Pinterest I might as well tell you my favorite place to pin: the bathroom! On the toilet or in the tub, it's like my own little Pinterest party for one 🙂
