What's your stance on Valentine's Day? I don't go whole hog for it (red roses? no thanks!) but I am in favor of anything that asks us to think more about love—for our partners, for our friends and family, and for ourselves. And in my humble opinion, the best way to celebrate love is with small, simple actions that create warm fuzzy feelings for everyone involved.
So this V-Day make an appeal to the senses. Give yourself permission to spend the afternoon burrowed on the couch with a cozy sweater and a book; bake an indulgent yet nourishing treat for your sweetheart; treat your BFF to a mani-pedi at her favorite salon; revel in a home facial (bonus points if you can convince your gent to do one too!); and spruce up your home with scents and textures that make the space a little more vivid. Of course we don't need the excuse of Valentine's Day to do these things, but a little extra motivation never hurt anyone!
