This morning I had breakfast with Kara Dykert of the lovely lifestyle and food blog By Kara Elise, and I gotta tell you guys: this gal is one to watch for sure. You definitely know her work already. As the head of events at Darling Magazine, Kara has spent the last while concepting and producing the stunning Darling Dinners supper series. Now she’s striking out under her own name and taking with her huge bag of tricks that includes recipe development and food styling, table and floral design, and general hostessing prowess!
But Kara’s not just a pretty face (or blog). She and I had a long chat about coming from the heartspace in all we do, and about searching always for the deeper meaning beneath our aesthetic pursuits. For Kara the joy in cooking and entertaining comes from the memories and connections that they foster, and she writes thoughtfully on how to create memorable, soulful experiences.
