Releasing a large body of work is a daring exercise in vulnerability, and a book is no exception. Yet as scary as it is to pour your heart into something and offer it up for public fodder, it’s also a valuable lesson in feeling the fear and doing it anyway. I’m grateful to say that launch of my book Sage Living has opened the door for me to share more personal writings like this essay for at Refinery29. I applied some pretty brutal honesty in detailing the experiences that led to birth of my book Sage Living. And I opened up with the knowledge that while getting vulnerable never grows easier, the sense of relief and connection that it fosters is always worth the risk.
