Two Minimalist Instagram Feeds for Visual Fresh Air

Even when we have the best intentions for a simple holiday season, it’s so easy to be swept down a path of excess and indulgence. While I did a pretty decent job keeping my spending and feasting in check, I definitely consumed more than my fair share of Christmas eye candy. Between Pinterest, Instagram, and blogs, the recent weeks brought constant stream of table settings and sweet treats, twinkle lights and tinsel. So if you’re like me and ready for a visual detox, here are two beautiful minimalist Instagram feeds to wipe the slate clean!

Victoria of Oh So Pretty (top and above) has mastered the art of the subtle photographic gesture. Her feed is a dreamy homage to comfy, casual fashion, stark landscapes, and standout architectural details. Through Victoria’s eyes we see the beauty in a wrinkled sheet or a slim line of type. (And we get plenty of pared-down outfit inspiration for 2016 too!)

Though slightly more glam, the gallery of Johanna Mariel is no less striking. There’s a movement to many of Johanna’s images that injects a pulsing, dynamic energy into her feed. A flash of lights, a strand of hair, a sweeping stride: all take on a cinematic grandeur that belies the everyday subject matter. Johanna’s photos prove that simple doesn’t equate boring; and they invite us to charge into 2016 with energy and style!
