Every year as winter fades and we inch closer to spring, pastels sing their siren song. This year it sounds even sweeter—and louder!—what with soft shades of blush, mint, and sky trending so hard all fall and winter that it seems they never left us. The resulting mood is less a celebration of pastels’ return and more a renewal of our commitment to our softer sides.
And yet, I still fight an internal battle against these hues into my decidedly neutral wardrobe. Maybe it’s memories of the dusty rose Laura Ashley wallpaper my mom used in the 80’s, or maybe I’m just a stick in the mud, but every time I try on clothing in these shades I feel like an extra on the Golden Girls. You’d think the cleaner, minimalist silhouettes in stores right now would help; but a tailored pant in pistachio merely inspires me to lace up my orthopedic shoes and join the senior’s cruise circuit.
So what’s a black-and-grey loving gal to do? Why, dip a toe into the pastel waters with accessories of course! Cuyana’s spring edit of totes, cross body bags, and small leather goods offer up several particularly fetching (and affordable!) opportunities to incorporate these sugary shades into your repertoire. A robin’s egg card holder or a buff pencil case are the sartorial equivalent of sampling a taste from a cloud of cotton candy, perhaps as a gateway to more pastel-y things…or perhaps simply as a reason to smile every time you spot them peeking up at you like a spring crocus from the bottom of your big black purse!

Beautiful bags but I really need to know where are these heels from?
