Whenever Spring rolls around, I get a back-to-nature itch, like the ghosts of my Iowa farm girl ancestors are calling my name. There’s something about the birdsong and blossoming trees that makes me long to frolic through fields with a newborn foal at my heels. Yet seeing as there are no fields nor foals in my immediate vicinity, I have to get my farm girl fix in easier, more virtual ways. That’s why I’m hitting refresh on these two light, bright, spring decor and lifestyle inspired Instagram feeds. They’re the online equivalent of tipping your face to the sky and reveling in the warmth of the March sun on your cheeks.
Over at County Road Living, Angie celebrates the simple pleasures she finds in the process of building a cozy farmhouse life—and she shares her quiet moments with us. White, bright, and utterly charming, her space is full of textured touches like vintage wood cutting boards, handmade ceramics, and wrinkled linens. I half expect a cheeky dairy cow to peek through the kitchen window; she’d fit right in with the color minimalist color scheme!
South of the Equator, Aussie Lean of Lean and Meadow is a photographer and slow living proponent with an eye for magic details. Through her lens even unwashed dishes have aesthetic appeal, and through her words we’re treated to the joys of nesting in a new home, learning to raise chickens, and picnicking with friends old and new. For a city gal like me, Lean’s feed is a much-needed getaway from the concrete jungle, even if it’s just for a moment or two!
This is so beautiful and inspiring. Thank you for sharing it.
So thrilled you’ve posted these! Absolutely in love with both of them. We’ve been fans of County Road for quite a long time – and thought she shut down! Wonderful that she’s migrated to County Road Living, and so happy to have her lovely images back in our feed!
