Global Texture + Pattern with Mudcloth Pillows from Mae Woven

I’m writing this post on a plane from Charlotte to Los Angeles, my feet sore and my imagination full after five days touring the furniture and decor showrooms at High Point Market. I spent my time at in North Carolina exploring the up-and-coming design trends and seeing them interpreted in myriad ways, all the while taking notes and snapping photos that will inform the ideas I share with you here in the coming months!

One of my favorite discoveries was wholly accidental and occurred when I picked up a pillow in the headquarters of a large to-the-trade furnishings company. Lo-and-behold, it wasn’t by the company I was visiting, but rather was a prop provided by Etsy seller Mae Woven. The African mudcloth pillow perched perkily atop a tufted leather sofa, its graphic print adding a touch of organic pattern just as its rough hewn fabric contrasted with the slick cognac hide of the bench cushion on which it rested.
