It’s Tuesday, which means that it’s time for another Two Girls, One Kit post! Caroline and I are having so much fun with this series. It’s a blast to see what the other comes up with each week, and to explore our different personalities through clothing! It’s not always easy to decide on which piece we want to feature—not surprisingly Caroline tends to push for the more adventurous items while I veer on the safe side—but we were both in total agreement when we saw this super soft charcoal grey turtleneck sweater from Cuyana.
Sometimes it’s the simplest things that capture your attention the most, and that’s definitely the case with this sweater. Designed and produced in accordance with Cuyana’s ‘Fewer, Better Things’ ethos, its cropped shape features details like drop shoulders and a vertical back seam to elevate it well beyond basic. The fibers are featherlight and warm with a fluid drape that breathes and moves as you do, making it a three-season essential.
Since we’re well into winter, I decided to revel in the chilly weather we’ve been having lately in LA and layer up with a second sweater. (I know! A sweater on a sweater!) The thick, chunky knit of my oversized cardigan pairs nicely against the fine gauge of the turtleneck for a study in contrast. I felt so cozy in my warm hug of alpaca, wool, and cashmere! To offset all the heft of my upper half, I wore a black silk slip dress with slits for movement and pizzazz. Black Western booties and a ponyhair camera bag completed this textured, dynamic look!
Caroline, on the other hand, used her grey turtleneck as the foundation for an outfit that encapsulates her love of interesting color combinations—in this case a pink wool coat worn with rust velvet jeans. I absolutely adored this upscale take on her usual vibe. It’s still playful and adventurous, but there’s a refinement to it that really speaks to me. So of course I paid her the highest complement when I told her: She should keep her eye on that coat and those velvet jeans because I might even consider wearing this combo myself!
