High Point Market Trend Report: All-Things Art Deco Inspired

It’s time for another dispatch from my trip to this fall’s High Point Market! Everywhere I looked as I toured the showrooms on the Design Bloggers Tour, I was smitten with all the Art Deco inspired pieces I spotted. I just couldn’t get enough of the chunky shapes, sultry curves, and unexpected details. After so many years of midcentury and boho leading the pack, it was refreshing indeed to see designers and manufacturers drawing from other noteworthy design styles!

At Tomlinson, one of our stops on the Design Bloggers Tour, we all oohed and aahed over the sofa in the top image, and also applauded the white and black chair pictured above. Later on the tour, at Highland House, every new introduction was noteworthy but that drool-worthy velvet bench stole the show most of all! Then, I struck out on my own, where I admired’s Arteriors’ cast aluminum accent table, Maison 55’s floating bookcase, and Kelly Hoppen’s polished steel lotus pendant lamp. I think we’re going to be seeing this deco trend trickle down in a major way, so start brushing up on your Charleston!
