Last fall, an editor from Brides Magazine reached out to Ivan and me for a column she was writing about newlyweds in their living spaces. The focus of the article? How to combine styles and make decorating a joy when you’re moving in together! Even though Ivan and I lived together for years before we got married, we certainly had memories of what it was like to combine households in the beginning, and we learned a lot from the experience. And of course, since I’m redecorating all the time, we’re constantly navigating the rocky road to ensuring that both individuals in the relationship feel like the living space is truly a shared one! You can read the full piece in the March 2019 issue of Brides, and you can snag some extra tips in the online companion to the article here!
P.S. Fun fact about that portrait of us, I had to take it myself using a tripod when we realized that we literally had zero photos of us at home together! The reason my hand isn’t visible behind Ivan’s shoulders is because I’m triggering the remote shutter. Hey, whatever it takes to get the shot, right?! 😉
