Every once in a while an opportunity comes along that leaves you pinching yourself, wondering if you're dreaming and about to wake up to real life. Such was the case when my friend and colleague Annette Joseph dropped me a line and asked me to be the guest blogger at a food and prop styling workshop she's holding in Italy this summer. Immerse myself in Italian culture and cuisine? Hone my photography and styling skills with some of the most talented folks in the industry? Write it off as a professional development on my tax return?? You can probably imagine how many exclamation marks accompanied the all-caps 'YES' in my reply to Annette.
From my previous experience, the nicest aspect of a workshop like this isn't the travel, the enrichment, or the Instagram cred (though those things have their benefits!). Rather, the chance to spark new relationships and deepen existing ones is unparalleled. Bonding over shared interests in a setting outside your usual routine makes for friendships that defy the bounds of time and place. And that's why I'm hoping you'll seriously consider joining me in Italy this summer. The workshop is open to anyone and it will truly be unforgettable!
How do I know it's a guaranteed good time? For starter's a 5-day gathering with fellow creatives in a B & B on the Italian Riviera. Instructors include 30-year veterans in the arenas of food, lifestyle, and photography. And finally, our hostess Annette Joseph has literally written the book on creating picture-perfect occasions. Whether you come solo or convince a gaggle of girlfriends, this will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I hope to see you there!
