Today Glade has asked me to share a get-cozy spot in my home with you! With the holidays fading into the distance and the long months of winter stretching before us, it's easy to feel trapped in our routine—especially when the weather makes outdoor activity impossible. To make winter seem less depleting and more restorative, it's so important to set aside indoor downtime. Carving out an inviting space for exactly that purpose makes us more likely to enjoy that time.
It's been raining a lot here in LA, so to escape the dreary downpour I've created a nook that appeals to all my senses with positive feelings of comfort and contentment. Of course scent plays a key role in establishing a cozy atmosphere. I'm drawn to fragrances that combine the hominess of vanilla with rustic fireside notes. (Glade cashmere woods is a great example, with plenty more scent inspiration from Glade on Pinterest). And because I love the warming glow of candle light so much, I like to mix a few unscented tapers into my coffee tablescape too.
As for the rest of my decor accents, natural textures such as unpolished marble, raw wood, and burnished brass have an earthy depth that whispers 'sink right in'. Of course a hot pot of coffee or tea is always on rotation too, and a good book is always close within reach. Everything comes together in a vibe that I like to think of as 'couch potato chic', and since honing it I've found myself retreating to the sofa and not minding the rain one bit!
