In my ongoing quest to eat well, I've found that planning is 90% of the battle. You're more likely to overcome junk food cravings if you've already prepped (and paid for!) a healthy option. For me this means outlining meals several days so I can have all the ingredients on hand; chopping lots of veggies on Sunday afternoon to save time and labor on weekdays; and also outfitting my kitchen with versatile, indespensible tools to make clean eating a breeze. Here are the five I use every single day.
To quell my sweet tooth I drink flavored teas, and having ceramic tea cups that I love makes me more likely to reach for Earl Grey over king-sized Twix. As well, I use tons of lemons on hand for everything from dressing salads to flavoring water, and a citrus press squeezes every last drop of juice. Sadly, lots of cooking means lots of cleanup. Ikea dish towels are thirsty enough soak up a mess yet inexpensive enough to keep in constant supply. When it comes time to stock up, these mesh string bags expand to carry so much more than a feebie canvas tote. Finally, clear glass storage jars let me stock up on bulk dry goods in the cupboards—and leftovers in the fridge!
Love it!

This is all so wise. I also do chopping and washing on Sundays. I’ve created a tea center, with a lovely and massive jar of honey, lemons, glass and metal canisters and fresh ginger root. It makes it an event to have a cup.
those market bags seem like the way to go… and sighhh waiting for winter to go away here in chicago!
