Lately I am lighting obsessed. It's generally been something that I didn't much have on my wishlist radar, probably because I've always lived in rentals and have had a hard time justifying buying new fixtures when I was already paying for perfectly serviceable ones. But now I've got a bee in my bonnet and I'm convinced that new lighting is going to change my life. Or at least, you know, my space.
My theory on the timing of this particular bonnet dwelling bee surrounds the glut of enticing new pendants, sconces, and chandeliers that has hit the market. Before, I could appreciate the merits of different options but none of them ever made me swoon. Now, however, a mod minimalism abounds, and it aligns perfectly with my less is more approach to decorating.
The common theme amongst my many faves is a metallic construction that combines clean lines with bold personality. Whether in brass, copper, or powder-coated steel, lighting like this lets you make a big statement with very little noise. I'm currently scouting my picks for over the dining table, next to the sofa, and beside my bed. The hunt has been illuminating to say the least!
