This morning I took a new route to walk the dog and meandered past the local high school just as a handful of sullen students dragged their feet through the doors for that most bummerific of activities: summer school. My heart went out to them, because who amongst us doesn't know the feeling of being tied to a desk while seemingly everyone else is out having fun?
Yet as much as I'd love to take an extended vacation somewhere exotic, I'm actually a horrible traveler. I get antsy when I'm removed from my daily routine, my tempestuous stomach balks at the thought of road food, and heaven help us all if I can't get a decent cup of coffee. In sum, the thought of travel appeals to me much more than the actual reality of it.
So lately I like to get my travel fix on Instagram. Feeds like those by Bryan Dale, Get Lost With Us, and Local Wanderer (respectively, from top) let me see the sights as folks who have hardier constitutions than I tour the country's national parks, urban centers, and everything in between. Instagram does a brilliant job of filtering out the trying aspects of travel and leaving only the prettiest bits behind!
These might be my favorite posts of yours! Thank you for sharing. 🙂
I’m right there with you in preferring to armchair travel as opposed to putting it into reality!
