Indigo. Prussian. Midnight. Ink. By any name, deep dark blue is having a moment. On small pieces like a hand-dyed linen tablecloth or a shibori pillow this hue adds sophistication and gravitas; on large items like a sofa, chair, or wall, it injects major drama that straddles the lines between rustic, artsy, and glamorous. Yet it's neutral enough that you can use it anywhere without tiring of it too quickly.
So when Sherwin-Williams asked me to take part in this year's edition of National Painting Week, I knew exactly the direction I wanted to take for my paint makeover. I transformed a small piece of furniture with a moody shade called 'Naval'—you can see it in the top photo of this post—and I'm super thrilled with the result. Stay tuned next week for the reveal!
Blue must be in the air- It’s the way I have been going with our new place. Can’t wait to see what you do Ann.
