Last-Minute Gift Wrap: Hudson’s Bay Blanket Stripes

DIY hudson bay blanket gift wrap

There's only one more sleep 'til Christmas! Are you all set and ready? I'm the resident gift wrapping pro in my family, so every year the task of playing elf falls to me. I love to put on some tunes (see yesterday's post for my favorite holiday music ideas), make a cup of cocoa, gather a plethora of paper and ribbon, and set to work.

Hudson's bay blanket gift wrap DIY

Since I'm spending the holidays in my hometown of Toronto, I've been finding major inspiration in retro Canadiana—hence this quick and easy Hudson's Bay blanket wrapping idea! It feels fresh but not overly Christmas-y, making it fun for gifts year round. I used satin ribbon since that's what I had on hand, but colored washi or masking tape would work brilliantly too.

The underlay is just white and blue tissue paper, and each package was completed and nestled under the tree in five minutes flat. I'm secretly hoping Santa will get the hint and leave a real Hudson's Bay blanket in my stocking, but even if he doesn't I'm sure I can figure out a nifty DIY with the leftover ribbon. Hudson's Bay hairbow, anyone?

P.S. For more good cheer, I've shared my go-to gingerbread man recipe with Lori at automatism!
