Once upon a time I lived in New York. It feels like ages ago, though it's only been three years. Some things I don't miss a bit: waiting in line for hours to get a decent brunch, waiting in line for hours to fill a prescription, waiting in line for hours to do anything. But my stint in the city did leave an indeliable mark on my fashion sensibility, and for that I am eternally grateful. Which is why I love Poppy.
Poppy is one of Manhattan's best edited–and most fun to shop–boutiques. A trip there on a Saturday was my favorite reward for a long week of toil, and I still stalk their online boutique for styling ideas and general outfit inspiration. The shapes, colors, pairings: they're just 'New York' enough to be fashion forward but not so out-there as to make me feel overdressed here in San Francisco.

Love the skinny jeans and beige blouse combo and the maxi skirt and white tee! High buns are my absolute favourite hairstyle at the moment, not only does it look stylish but it keeps my hair out of my hair and I don’t mess around with it all day!
