Wardrobe Essential: Patterned Scarves from Block Shop

I just got some news I've been waiting all winter to receive: Block Shop Scarves are back and available for pre-order! Do you know about this incredible textile company? They launched their traditional, handmade Indian scarves during the holiday season last year, but they sold out within 24 hours. I've been waiting with my itchy clicker finger on the 'buy' button ever since.

Block Shop is the brainchild of American sisters Lily and Hopie Stockman; Lily designs the printed scarves while Hopie handles the business side of things. To bring their vision to life they've partnered with a master printer in India who has formed a cooperative of hand block printers that is carrying on this ancient craft. The result? A modern, minimalist aesthetic meets an age-old way of life.

I had the honor of meeting Lily Stockman last fall, and after being in her company for a few days I can say these scarves could only have come from her creative soul. The vibrant colors and striking patterns have the same life-giving energy that Lily herself has. You must follow her adventures on her blog and Instagram, and pick up a scarf if you're so inclined. But hurry before they go the way of the first batch!

P.S. How cute would these look with yesterday's post on the relaxed denim button-down? Images: Block Shop and Lily Stockman Instagram.

  1. I LOVE them too. Kathleen Shannon was wearing the herringbone – papaya at Alt and I seriously wanted to drug her drink and steal it.
I ordered arrows – coral! Which one did you get?

  2. beautiful, so beautiful. i’m a huge fan of scarves..but most of mine consist of GAP /j.crew.. and not nearly enough pattern/design . I must get one! (but which one is the tough decision!)
