White Elephant Party Ideas and a $150 Giveaway!

Polka dot gift wrap

Have you ever been to a white elephant exchange? You probably know what I'm talking about. Everyone brings a wrapped gift. All the presents are put in the middle of the circle, then one by one participants either choose a parcel from the pile or steal from someone who's unwrapped already. Invariably there ends up being a standout gift that's stolen over and over. And while there's definitely satisfaction in finishing the game holding that most coveted item, there's an even greater sense of pride that comes with being the person who brought it to the party in the first place.

Brilliant ideas

So when T.J. MaxxHome Goods, and Marshall's reached out to see if I wanted to participate in a holiday challenge that they're running, I was all ears. My assignment was to shop at all three stores to assemble the absolute best party gift I could imagine. I honed my finely-tuned gifting beacon onto a plethora of polka dots that included a designer crossbody bag, a cheeky journal, and a big box of chocolate covered pretzels. Some cheerful kraft paper completed the effect for a trio of prizes that are guaranteed to cause a serious ruckus at the office holiday party.

Kate spade polka dots

Here's the most exciting part. (Okay, nothing is more exciting than a sprinkle encrusted chocolate pretzel, but this comes close…) I've got two $150 gift cards to award two readers (one each)! The prize can be spent at any T.J. Maxx, Home Goods, or Marshall's, where $150 goes a long way. Use the widget below to enter. Just imagine all the fights you can start at your next white elephant!

  4. Group of best friends from S.C. coming up to our home in N.C. this weekend for our annual Christmas weekend.
