I'd like to say that my recent affection for the foldover clutch stems from this bags so-chic-it-hurts appearance. After all, I've yet to see a street style photo in which a woman totes one of these soft, simple accessories beneath her arm and fails to look like a fashion genius. I'd also like to claim that my affinity stems from how versatile the oversized clutch is. Preppy or punk, boho and beyond, there seems to be no outfit this style doesn't suit.
But my adoration for the big, slouchy clutch has much more humble (read: humiliating) origins. I have an obnoxious tendency to misplace my purse. I've left countless bags at coffee shops across the country, and it's only by the grace of lost-and-found Samaritans that I haven't had to replace my passport repeatedly. However, if you absolutely have to palm your bag at all times—as opposed to slinging it over your shoulder—you're much less likely to abandon it. The alarm bell in your brain will sound the moment you walk off emptyhanded. Believe me, it works!
Whatever your reasons for coveting a clutch, there are some serious lookers out there right now! I myself am fond of anything animal print, and specimens with woven, quilted, and embossed constructions have also caught my eye. The clutch is also a perfect opportunity to weave a little color into your outfit, without overpowering the rest of your look. And while I can't guarantee my theory on pocketbook peace of mind, I can say it's an excellent excuse buy a new bag!
Just purchased a monogrammed clutch from CWonder and I absolutely love it!

Great piece ! Xx, m
I am queen of leaving my purse behind, but your clutch method actually makes sense. Love this look, especially that spotted Claire V!
