Dyed Indigo Scarves by Native Kind

Indigo dye

The allure of the big scarf seems universal. Pinterest is riddled with images of effortlessly chic girls swathed in oversized neck warmers; every boutique worth its salt layers multiple wrappers about mannequins' shoulders; and I myself could probably build a fort from my scarf collection if it ever struck my fancy to do so. Even at this very moment I'm warding off the morning chill with linen throw that I purchased for my bed but have since repurposed for my wardrobe.

Because I'm always on the lookout for ever better neck fodder, I immediately latched on to the launch of Native Kind. A collaboration between husband-wife team Gabriel and April Flores, the brand new shop sells naturally dyed linens that beg to ensconce you in their stylish warmth. The deep, moody hues elevate everything from jeans and a tee to a little black dress.

The drape and flow of these textiles belies a softness that only a newborn bunny could rival. And with a variety of sizes available there's an option for everyone—from insouciant neckerchief to impromptu airplane blanket. My only conundrum is whether I prefer the solid or the patterned iterations. I guess the deciding factor should be which will look best as the roof of my scarf fort, yes?
