Vintage Glassware for Holiday Cocktails + Entertaining

Holiday cocktails

In college I knew a girl who brought her own crystal stemware to parties. No matter what libations were in the offing—cheap beer usually—she'd sip it elegantly from a champagne flute. Back then I rolled my eyes at the affectation and chalked it up to her being a drama major, but now I realize that she was really just ahead of her time. After all, gorgeous glassware has the ability to make even the simplest drink feel special and sophisticated.

I myself don't drink much, but I do love to get people liquored up during the holidays because I love an excuse to add to my glassware collection! Vintage midcentury cocktail and wine glasses lend themselves especially nicely to this time of year, with plenty of gold motifs and unusual shapes. There's lots of it to be had on Etsy (where I found all of the above) and don't forget all the little extras like ice buckets and tongs, bottle openers, and stirrers. That's purple coupe has especially caught my eye; it's definitely worth stowing in your purse next time you go to a party!
